State Opioid Response

Our State Opioid Response (SOR IV) Program works to reduce overdoses and deaths by connecting communities of color in Orange County with compassionate, culturally responsive care.

What We Offer:

  • Harm Reduction Resources  – Free Narcan (naloxone), fentanyl test strips, and xylazine test strips.
  • Overdose Reversal Trainings: Learn how to recognize the signs of overdose and respond effectively.
  • Community Education: Outreach events and workshops on Stimulant Use Disorder, Opioid Use Disorder, Harm Reduction, Treatment/Recovery, and Traditional Cultural Healing Practices.

MECCA partners with Abrazar, Inc., Access California Services, Orange County Children’s Therapeutic Arts Center, and Southland Integrated Services to provide culturally specific, in-language education on SUD and available services. Together, we aim to reduce stigma, expand access to support, and foster recovery. This program is supported by a federal grant under the State Opioid Response program, with funding provided by the California Department of Health Care Service.
